How to Choose a Car That Suits Your Lifestyle Perfectly!

The car buying process is very exciting but can quickly get complicated. With the humongous number of choices available for every budget, how do you choose? Well, you start by narrowing down to the type of car that matches your needs. We’ll help simplify by letting you know the common car types and what they do best.

Sedans

This is a passenger car with four doors and space for five people across two rows of seats. It has the engine bay upfront, the passenger cabin in the middle, and a separate lockable trunk at the rear. This is the classic car design that has been popular for decades. Sedans work best for single people, couples, and small families.

Coupe

This is a two-door passenger car with a fixed roof. It is usually shorter than a sedan and features seating space for two or maybe five across one or two rows. Rear seats, if any, are often cramped and best for small children or light luggage. The trunk is a separate lockable area. Coupes work well for singles or couples but not families.

Hatchbacks

This is a passenger vehicle that has a vertically-opening rear door or hatch that lifts up to allow access to the cargo area. Most hatchbacks have space for five across two rows of seats and may have two or four doors for passengers. Again, this type of car works well for singles, couples, and small families.

Wagons

This is a sedan with its roof extended far behind over the cabin and cargo space. It looks like an extended hatchback. It has two rows of seats and a huge cargo area. It’s great for singles, couples, and families.

SUVs

This vehicle’s focus is on passenger and cargo space. SUVs can seat between four to eight people across two or three rows. The passenger area is connected to the cargo area, like in hatchbacks. But, SUVs have high ground clearance, are built to be rugged, handle rough terrain, and tow trailers. They have a truck-like appearance. Today, CUVs or crossovers are also called SUVs because they look similar. Crossovers, however, are focused on on-road use. SUVs are great for singles, families, and outdoorsy people.
